It is located near most intersting places of the old city.
Lack of tourism information. The breakfast is third rate.
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The location is very good in the old city center of Cartagena. Breakfast is good.
The room had only cold water, no window to the outside, and was noisy at night. Internet didn't work well. The laundary service was expensive.
The location is very nice in the middle of the center of Cartagena but in a quite part of it. The service is very helpful and comfortable.
The only problem is that all the room have window on the patio (that is a closed patio) and is closed then there is not so much light and u have to use always air conditioned and artificial light.
The hotel was recently restored with a modern taste. The general impression of the ambience is extremely favourable (white and clean).
I was annoyed by my room (all ground floor rooms overlook the internal patio and have no windows/natural source of light). Moreover, the noise coming from the centrail air conditioning system, located in the patio itself, was very unpleasant and disturbed my sleep (also noise and traffic from the street were quite a thing). The final result of never getting fresh air is the room smelled awful, and after complaints I didn't have any solution provided and I was not offered a new room. At least I received a small discount on the final price as a refund for the inconvenient. I would ask for a first floor room, in order to understand if all those problems mught be overcome (window, fresh air, no smell, no noise).
Staff courtesy, cleaning, good breakfast.
Rooms with no windows.
Great value for the money. The rooms are basic, but clean and air conditioned. Everyone who works there is very helpful and friendly (they spent about 30 minutes trying to help me find a yoga studio in the city). And its a great value - ac, eggs and fresh juice smoothies for breakfast every morning, really cheap laundry, flat screen TVs.
I had an internal room, which meant that there were no windows and there wasn't any hot water (but that seemed to be pretty common in Cartagena)
Excellent friendly staff, clean and simple yet elegant rooms - would recommend
We arrived and they told us our room was in another hotel 2 blocks away, at a different address to that advertised. At the new location, they gave us a room with 3 single beds. As a couple we had booked a double room so then had to negotiate with them that this did not meet our booking details. Eventually they gave us the keys to a double room, with no explanation as to why this took 20 minutes to achieve. The room was very clean and comfortable, although it smelt strongly of fresh paint and the shower wouldn't drain. For a new hotel we were surprised to find the room not mosquito proof, and the one mirror to have a huge chunk missing from the corner. For 120peso it was still ok value, eventually, but the attitude and lack of service rendered this a terrible experience for us. We think they had over booked their hotel. We strongly do not recommend this hotel. Dodgy.
Do not recommend; it is awful
Nothing at all!!! The hotel charged 50% one week in advance without informing this in the Booked.net site and added to the rate they informed three other taxes not informed before. It has only 9 rooms, all of them without natural air and light and only half of them have warm water. We even didn´t water one day! The hotel interior is very hot and unpleasant. The front desk man seems is very unpolite and seems to lie most of the moments. Some guest girls from Brazil even had to call a policeman because of his mistreating. Breakfast was louzy. We had no adequate place to put away the clothes in the room we stayed at. If you arrive after 10 P.M. it´s hard to wake the night porter, and because of it one has to yell and hit the door many times.
After having to stay there for three nights (as long as they have charged half booking value), we can´t understand why this so called "hotel" was allowed to function in a city that intends to develop its tourism services!!!
Very close to the old town, good location and nice staff. Breakfast was also good enough. Cheap laundry service, good tv set with plenty of international channels, nice door window with view.
Unfortunately I would not recommend it. There was no hot water, no wardrobe or set of drawers. On our last night we had a different room where we thought we would have got hot water but we were disappointed again and it was not possible to switch off the light in the bathroom at all. We slept with bright light coming through the door for the whole night. Another oddity was the lack of fan in the bathroom and no window in this room. The air conditioner was right above our bed header meaning we could not leave it on for more than 10 minutes without getting a stiff cold neck. The hotel lacks of basic facilities that even a hostel would offer, for this reason I would not stay again despite the lovely staff and good location. The price did not match what the hotel had on offer either.
It was a good price for a clean, fairly stylish and comfortable place right in the center of the old, colonial city in Cartagena. The included breakfast was a nice perk. The staff are nice and pleasant even though it was hard because some of them don't speak any English.
There are a couple downsides. The showers didn't have hot water. But this didn't bother me because it is so hot here! Another downside is that it can be pretty noisy in the morning. I could hear the clanking of breakfast plates and talking right outside my door. In earlier reviews I saw that travelers complained that there weren't any windows, but this isn't really accurate. I stayed in two rooms here: one with a tiny balcony and window that looked onto the street, and another that had a window that looked into the interior courtyard.
It has recently been done up, so is relatively new. Staff were friendly
The room was full of weevils/moths that were living in the curtains. You could kill all the moths, but the room would be full of them again within hours. Customers are only provided with a light sheet for bedding. The room was very noisy - breakfast was served right next to the room and was set up at 630am, so the noise continued all morning.
